Cottonseeds KEC #1 – Forever Free
When I was working on a new site design, I struggled with what to do with Cottonseeds KEC #1. I can’t imitate another artist’s style, I tried, it didn’t work.
I was going to redo the art to make it consistent with all future issues. So, the issue felt like a work in progress to me. Unfinished. In the spirit of my New Year’s resolutions, I just didn’t bother.
Wait for it.
I realized the issue is a preview, and pretty good for a preview. And that’s why the issue will be a forever free download from now on.
Yep, you got that right. I’ve decided to make Cottonseeds KEC #1 forever free.
I feel good about this decision. In fact, I feel fantastic. A huge weight has been lifted. I can move on the bigger and better things. Top
I want to share my creative process, step by step. What I do is a bit different. I’ve been using Photoshop since 1994. unfortunately, due to a variety of neurological medical conditions that have developed over the years, my coordination, eyesight, and energy levels re not what they used to be. I’m okay, just tired all the time. I now use Photoshop no different than a mobility aid.
I don’t draw in Photoshop. I’m not a cartoonist, and I don’t pretend to be one. I design and illustrate the shadows using several shades.
I look forward to showing everyone exactly what I do. I’ll be using all of cottonseeds issue 3 to show the entire creative process. I’m going to do series of posts on a regular basis and show each step I take.
